Ethereum (ETH) merger for September 6?

Ethereum (ETH) is about to reach a peak in its evolution. Indeed, the network upgrade to The Merge is fast approaching. Between doubt and certainty regarding the success of the operation, the launch date is not clear. However, it is more likely to happen in September. That said, the countdown can’t really begin until the network switches to Bellatrix, an upgrade expected around September 6th.

The knots of it mainnet Ethereum must prepare to welcome The Merge.

The latest work on the Ethereum blockchain reveals that the transition to The Merge is imminent. In fact, very soon, the network should abandon the Proof of Work (PoW) mechanism in favor of Proof of Stake (PoS). An evolution that will have a significant impact on the Ethereum community and far beyond.

But when it comes to progress, it’s important not to put the cart before the horse. This is why Ethereum developers are inviting mainnet users to upgrade their Ethereum 2.0 Teku client to the latest version (22.81). This must be done before 6 September.

The reason for this is that the Teku v.22.81 client includes the Bellatrix upgrade and the necessary configuration to migrate to The Merge. That being said, Bellatrix is intended as a necessary upgrade to prepare for the merge. It is therefore a mandatory update for all nodes.

Additionally, collectors will need to update their runtime clients beforehand. This may lead to errors, until the process is complete.

Between the drop in the cost of gas and the network’s progress towards The Merge, Ethereum is currently enjoying a very bright time. It will be even bigger if The Merge succeeds. This should boost the price of its native token, Ether, and encourage an influx of project leaders on the network.
